For us Sydneysiders a trip to Victoria is not just the quick flight but enjoying the totally different vibe we aren’t used to back home. We recently spent 2 days in Melbourne and filled our adventure with ….mainly shopping (we admit it is actually boarderline if not better than Sydney …but don’t tell anyone we said that!), coffee (for Tash’s addiction), food (so much tempatation) and the sites …mainly the art and culture.

So this is our visual diary of what 2 girls get up to when they hit Melbourne. Some tips …..

1. Shopping – If you have a short amount of time hit Bourke St (also check out in this area The Emporium, Myer, David Jones & the H&M is one of the best), Collins St (take you wallet!), Flinders Lane and Chapel Street (start at Toorak Road).

2. Food – ask the locals where to eat. They literally will give you a full page list of “must” places to eat based on the type of food, vibe and price point. We found they are really excited to share their must eat places ….so listen to them. But we love Coda & Pellegrinis, 400 Gradi, Journal & Tall Timber in Prahran.

3. Walk walk walk. You will discover unique laneways, extremely small but amazing coffee spots, interesting shops filled with unique finds and don’t forget to people watch!

4. Must visit the  National Gallery Of Victoria – they have incredible exhibitions (we went to the David Hockney exhibition) worth just travelling to see. We also love their extremely impressive private collection.

Heading down this week to VAMFF so can’t wait to see you all there.
